People sometimes mistake the showy flowers for sweet peas. 5-6 ft. vines need trellising. Purple flowers and young leaves make a beautiful and delicious addition to spring salads. About 20% of individual peas are purple when allowed to fully mature, past the normal eating stage for snow peas. This is normal for this variety. Introduced in the US by Turtle Tree.
