Description Food grade Potassium Bicarbonate (KHCO3) Potassium Bicarbonate is a mineral used in horticulture and this product is food grade and 99.99% pure. It is an ideal source of potassium for Aquaponics. Potassium deficiency symptoms: Leaves exhibit yellow, burnt edges, progressing to rusty spots. Leaf tips may curl upward, flower production decreases, and fruits are often stunted. Benefits of Potassium Bicarbonate: Potassium is vital for flowering plants, promoting larger blooms and improved flavour. Additionally, bicarbonate increases water hardness, creating a more stable pH environment that is safer for fish. Aquaponics systems are often deficient in potassium which is a key mineral for all plants. Potassium is especially important for flowering plants and contributes to bigger flowers and better flavour. The bicarbonate increases water hardness and provides a safer environment for fish, which are sensitive to changes in water pH. Considerations: Potassium Bicarbonate will increase your pH. If your pH goes above 7.5 decrease it to 6.5 using Phosphoric Acid. Critical for greening leaves. How to Use: Greens & Vegetative Growth: Dosage 2 teaspoon measures per 400L of water once a week. Fruiting plants: Add 2 teaspoon measures per 200L of water twice a week. Add scoop to a bucket of fish water to mix well and then add to fish tank.
